Jodhpur, also known as the "Blue City," is a popular tourist destination in Rajasthan, India.  The city gets its nickname from the characteristic blue houses lining its streets, especially in the Brahmin district near Mehrangarh Fort.  Jodhpur was founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 and served as the capital of the Marwar kingdom.  Jodhpur is known for its rich history, majestic Mehrangarh Fort, vibrant culture, and delicious Marwari cuisine.

Mehrangarh Fort, perched on a 125-meter-high hill overlooking the city, is Jodhpur's most prominent landmark.  The fort complex encompasses palaces, museums, temples, and courtyards, offering a glimpse into Jodhpur's royal past.  Another iconic structure is Umaid Bhawan Palace, a 20th-century palace built in the Indo-Western architectural style.  Umaid Bhawan Palace is part museum and part luxury hotel, offering a unique experience to visitors.
