AMBER FORT:

About 11km north of Jaipur stands the spectacular Amber Fort built by Maharaja Man Singh. A wonderful example of Rajput architecture, it overlooks a lake which reflects its many terraces and pavilions. Amber is also known for the spectacular Sheesh Mahal, Jai Mandir, Diwan-i-Am, Sikh Niwas and the small Kali Temple.

Later in the afternoon you will be taken for lunch and then continue your sightseeing visiting:

HAWA MAHAL:

Also known as the Palace of Winds was built in 1799. It is a part of the City Palace and was commissioned by Sawai Pratap Singh. The Hawa Mahal was designed for the ladies of the royal household to watch the goings-on on the street while themselves remaining hidden from public view.

CITY PALACE:

In the heart of the old city is former royal residence built in a blend of the Rajasthani and Mughal styles. A part of this palace is now a museum. The rest of the palace serves as the living quarters of the royal family of Jaipur. The palace also has an art gallery with an excellent collection of miniature paintings, carpets, royal paraphernalia and rare astronomical works.

JANTAR MANTAR:

A stone observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh who represents his love for Astronomy, its complex instruments, whose settings and shapes are scientifically designed represent the high point of medieval India astronomy.

        The Famous Forts of Jaipur

        Jaipur is a city with wonderful tourist attractions. There are various codes in Jaipur like Amer Fort, 6 kilometres away from Jaipur; City Palace, established by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II; Diggi Palace, an Indian Royal Palace and now a Heritage Hotel run by royal family; Jaigarh Fort, located on Cheel ka teeka at the Aravali ranges; Rambagh Palace, former palace of residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur and now have become a hotel; Jal Mahal, in the middle of man Sagar lake; Hawa Mahal, with 953 windows and Nahargarh Fort, on the edge of the Aravali Hills.

        Museums of Jaipur

        There are two museums which are very famous in Jaipur. One is City Palace and the other is Albert Hall museum. There are valuable antique items kept in the museum which represent the culture and the lifestyle of the rulers. Albert Hall Museum is the oldest museums of Rajasthan and it also enjoys the status of state museum of Rajasthan. It is situated in Ram Niwas Garden. It is also called as government Central Museum.

        Best Dishes to Eat in Jaipur

        Jaipur offers various delectable and mouth watering dishes. Some of them are Dal Bati Churma, Pyaz ki Kachori, Gatte ki Sabji, Gajak, Mirchi Vada, Keema Bathi, Lapsi, Kalakand, Masala Tea, Aam Ki Launji, Jaipuri Chicken, Chokhani Kheer, Lassi, Bajre Ki Khichdi, Jungle Mass, Rajasthani Kadhi, Laal Maas, Mawa Kachori, Ker Sangri, Ghevar, etc. Rajasthani cuisine is considered as one of the best cuisines in India.         The Design and Architecture of Jaipur

        Jaipur has three gates covering all the directions except south. There are different names given to the different Gates. The Eastern gate is named as Suraj pole meaning sun gate. The Western gate is called as Chand pole meaning Moon gate. The northern gate doesn’t have any particular name but it fixes the ancestral capital of Amer.

        Tourist Spots of Jaipur

        There are some other tourist spots of Jaipur also which are different from what have been mentioned. They are Jaipur Zoo, Jawahar Kala Kendra, Rajasthan assembly building, Jantar Mantar, Raj Mandir cinema and Ramgarh lake. Jaipur Zoo is near Albert Hall museum. Jantar Mantar is the astronomical site to find out actual time with the help of some scientific instruments. Jawahar Kala Kendra is a multi arts centre full of arts and crafts.         Festivals of Jaipur

        India is a land of festivals. Rajasthan is a state which is known for celebrating the festivals with maximum number of colors. Elephant festival, Gangaur festival and teach are the three major festivals of Jaipur. Elephant festival is held on the day when entire India is playing Holi.
