Agatti Island, like most of Lakshadweep, enjoys pleasant weather year-round. However, the  best time to visit depends on what you prioritize in your island getaway:

Peak Season (October to Mid-May): This is the ideal window for most visitors. The weather is delightful, with sunshine, calm seas, and comfortable temperatures ranging from 22°C to 30°C. This makes it perfect for outdoor activities like swimming, snorkeling, diving, and exploring the island. It's also the peak tourist season, so expect more crowds and potentially higher prices.

Shoulder Season (March to May): As summer approaches, temperatures rise slightly (29°C to 35°C). However, it's still a good time to visit if you can handle some heat. The crowds start to thin out a bit, and you might find better deals on accommodation.

Monsoon Season (June to September): Lakshadweep experiences moderate to heavy rainfall during the monsoon. The seas can be rough, making travel between islands by boat challenging. However, the island turns lush and green during this time, and there are significantly fewer crowds. If you're on a tight budget and don't mind the rain, this could be an option, but some water activities might be limited.

Yes, Lakshadweep is a restricted area. Permits can be obtained from the Lakshadweep Administration in Kochi, Kerala.

Relax on pristine beaches, explore the vibrant coral reefs with snorkeling or scuba diving, enjoy water sports like kayaking and windsurfing, explore the island by bicycle, indulge in Ayurvedic rejuvenation treatments, and experience the local culture.

The Indian Rupee (INR) is the official currency.

Compared to other Lakshadweep islands, Agatti has limited options. Choose from guesthouses or the government-run Agatti Island Beach Resort.

Costs can vary depending on your travel style. Budget options exist, but Lakshadweep's remote location can make it pricier than mainland India. Luxury resorts on some islands will be more expensive.
