Jagdish Temple is one of the largest and oldest Hindu temples in Udaipur. The temple was completed in the year 1651 and has the idol of Jagannath, a form of Vishnu. The most beautiful time at the lake was at sunset when it is a magical place to be. It is very common to take a boat trip on the lake to see the beautiful view of the city palace and the areas of Udaipur or visit the Garden Lake Palace.
Ghat plays an important role in India. Ghat refers to places where the steps lead to a river or lake. People come to pray, take a shower or celebrate important Hindu festivals. The most famous are the ghats in Varanasi, but Udaipur has ghats in the beautiful Lake Pichola. The Gangaur Ghat is one of the most charming areas in Udaipur. During the day, it is always busy with people who bathing, washing, pray and perform ceremonies.

Early morning is the best time to visit this place in Udaipur. Everything is still quiet and calm and you can see the sunrise over the lake. The other Ghat with a beautiful view of the lake is Hanuman Ghat on the other side of the lake. From here you can also see the City Palace and see the size of this complex.
While Gangaur Ghat is ideal for sunrise viewing, Hanuman Ghat is the best place in Udaipur to see the sunset. There are many restaurants where you can sit to watch this magical moment.
At Udaipur Market, you will find many small Jain temples with beautiful mirrors and glass decorations. It is hard to find but definitely worth looking for.

Around Gangaur Ghat, you will find many shops selling famous paintings and other souvenirs of Rajasthan. Don't be fooled in these bazaars.

To see the real Udaipur, you must explore the back streets behind the Jagdish Temple. The more you adventure in Udaipur, the more local experience you will get. You will find lots of hidden temples, handicrafts, shrines, and yummy street foods.
Bagore ki Haveli was built in the 18th century. The architecture is no less impressive than the palaces of Udaipur and after major renovations; it is now a museum about the Mewar dynasty. There is also a daily cultural show at night.

All travelers, not a big fan of cultural performances and I rarely visit them, but I enjoyed Dharohar cultural show. Set in one of the oldest has in Udaipur the location could not be better. Moreover, it is fun to enjoy and definitely experience in Udaipur that make you laugh.
